It was perfect weather. The sun was shining, warming the air. It was Shane and Marci’s big day, the day they would get to honor their love with friends and family.
I met with Shane to do some pictures of just him before the ceremony. I expected him to be nervous and maybe a little stressed. But what I found was a calm, nothing but smiles from head to toe, groom. He was proudly dressed in his Army uniform, and I listened in awe and he described to me what each medal, stripe, and patch meant. I could feel his reverence and love for this great country. When I asked him if he was nervous, even though I could tell he wasn’t (I think I was in shock he wasn’t!), he calmly replied, “I’m just really happy and excited today.”
At the salon, the girls were getting ready. I loved watching the bridesmaids, Marci’s mom, and Marci tear up as she put her beautiful dress on. It was sweet to watch them dote on her, fixing her veil, dress and hair. Marci, I could tell, was completely in love, ready for this next step to bring their families together.
Dear Shane and Marci,
You’re wedding was incredibly beautiful. You two made every detail count. I loved the intimacy of the wedding, and meeting your wonderful families and friends! I loved the way you two danced and held each other. You could see it in your eyes how much you both adore each other. Thank you, thank you for trusting me to be a part of this special moment in your forever. Shane, thank you for your service to our country. We are all indebted to those who serve in the military. Marci, you were an amazing wedding planner, scrutinizing every detail! This really was a perfect day. Congratulations you two! I couldn’t be more happy for you and I wish you the very, very best!
